Governor Perdue: Stand up for Climate Science, Veto H819

The United States Geological Survey recently released a study showing that sea levels are rising on the East Coast at three times the global rate. But rather than working to save North Carolina’s coast for future generations, the NC General Assembly decided to side with climate change deniers, delaying the use of scientific sea level rise projections in coastal planning for four years.

Tell Governor Bev Perdue to stand up for the science, and veto H819.

Rather than ignoring sea level rise caused by climate change, North Carolina should be preparing for it. Please veto H819, and ask the legislature to send you a bill that doesn't hamper coastal planning.
