North Carolina: Plan for Climate Change, Don't Deny It
The North Carolina State Senate recently approved a bill that prohibits the state from using scientific projections for sea level rise. The State House followed with a proposal of their own: they want to pass a five-year moratorium on all coastal planning that factors in sea level rise.
Instead of working to save North Carolina’s coast for future generations, legislators there are siding with climate change deniers, and trying to pass a law officially ignoring the threat.
